Founder Tony Powell Marks KCG’s 20th Anniversary by Initiating a Planned Leadership Transition — Bringing a Trusted Leader Into the Firm’s Ownership and Signaling the Next Chapter for KCG

Twenty years ago, Tony Powell founded Knowledge Capital Group [KCG], with a clear conviction: Southeastern organizations deserved access to the rigorous, high-caliber advisory work that helps national institutions make better decisions, execute with discipline, and emerge stronger. In the two decades since, KCG has done exactly that: completing 150+ engagements across 30+ client organizations and building a reputation as one of the Southeast’s most trusted practices across strategy, M&A, and operational transformation.
As KCG marks its 20th anniversary, founder and Managing Director Tony Powell is taking a step that reflects both the firm’s maturity and his confidence in its future: Brittany Hall, who has served as a Practice Leader at KCG for nearly three years, is being welcomed into the firm’s ownership, acquiring a stake in the business she has helped build. The move signals a deliberate and planned evolution in KCG’s leadership, initiated by Powell as part of a long-term vision for the firm’s next chapter.
Hall joined KCG after a career that combined frontline operational experience with enterprise-level strategic work. A former consultant in McKinsey & Company’s Operations and Implementation practices, she led lean transformations and capability-building engagements across advanced industries, consumer, and energy sectors. Before McKinsey, she was an engineer and program manager at GE Power, working on the firm’s HA turbine programs. Over nearly three years at KCG, she has applied that background directly — helping strengthen and grow the firm’s healthcare practice while bringing a perspective from other industrial sectors directly relevant to South Carolina’s evolving economy.
“In our 20th year, I couldn’t be more excited about what this announcement represents. Brittany has been integral to where this firm is today. Over the past three years, she has helped us grow and strengthen our work in healthcare in ways I’m genuinely proud of. But what excites me most is what she brings beyond that: a background in manufacturing, industrial operations, and strategy that is directly applicable to the industries driving South Carolina’s economy. Welcoming her into this firm’s ownership is exactly the kind of decision you make when you’re building something meant to last and I believe our clients and our state will be better for it.”

“What drew me to KCG, and what has kept me here, is the way this firm works. We don’t sit on the sidelines and hand clients a presentation. We get in it with them, do the hard work alongside them, and stay until it’s done. Tony has built that culture over 20 years and it shows in the results our clients achieve. Being welcomed into this firm’s ownership is an honor I don’t take lightly, and I plan to carry that standard forward and keep raising the bar on what great looks like for the organizations we serve.”
