About the Position
KCG partners with healthcare organizations, including academic medical centers, health systems, community hospitals, and physician enterprises, through the moments that matter most: growth, transformation, partnerships, and performance improvement. We deliver results, not studies. Our Senior Consultants own meaningful pieces of that work. They lead workstreams end to end, work side-by-side with client leaders, and see recommendations through to implementation.
This role is for an experienced consultant who brings an established toolkit from a top-tier or leading firm and is ready to operate independently and credibly in front of senior clients from day one. Healthcare experience is ideal but not required. What matters most is strong consulting fundamentals, sound judgment, and working familiarity with the healthcare space.
This isn’t a role where you wait for someone to hand you a plan. You’ll own it, you’ll run it, and you’ll be in the room with the clients.
What You’ll Do
- Own and run workstreams end to end, from problem definition through recommendation and implementation
- Structure ambiguous problems, build the supporting analyses, and turn findings into clear, executive-ready storylines and deliverables
- Lead working sessions and steering meetings with director-, VP-, and executive-level client stakeholders
- Work side-by-side with client teams to design and implement practical, sustainable solutions (e.g., operating models, governance, processes, performance management)
- Serve as the day-to-day client contact for your workstream, managing issues, expectations, and follow-through
- Coach consultants and analysts and review their work, raising the quality of team output
- Contribute to building the firm through proposal support, knowledge development, and recruiting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree; MBA, MHA, MPH or similar graduate degree a plus but not required
- 5-7 years of professional experience, including 3+ years at a top-tier firm [e.g., MBB] or 4-5 years at a Big 4 or similar firm
- An established consulting toolkit: hypothesis-driven problem solving, structuring and analysis, storylining, deliverable development, and workstream planning
- Demonstrated ability to own a workstream independently and deliver high-quality work with limited oversight
- Credibility with senior client stakeholders, including the ability to run a meeting, manage pushback, and hold a well-reasoned point of view
- Familiarity with the healthcare industry, including direct involvement in at least one or two healthcare client engagements
- Clear, concise written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Willingness to travel to client engagements, estimated at up to 50%
- Authorization to work in the United States
What Sets Candidates Apart
- Experience with healthcare provider organizations (health systems, academic medical centers, physician enterprises)
- Work in strategy, organizational design, operating models, performance improvement, or large-scale transformation and implementation
- A track record of building trusted relationships with client executives
- Experience coaching and developing junior team members
- An entrepreneurial mindset and desire to help build a growing firm, including a willingness to accept at-risk compensation tied to individual and firm performance
